Make sure you don’t fall for straw purchasing when you buy your Houston Honda. I bought a Houston Honda several months ago, and as my credit isn’t in tip top shape, the Houston Honda salesperson encouraged me to find a co signer. I got my brother to sign for me since I am in a good position to make all of my payments and he wouldn’t end up legally liable for the car. The Houston Honda dealer said that co signing would work out great for me, because I would be able to get a lower rate and paying my car loan would improve my credit.
But it turned out to be a trick, and I’ve found that this is something that happens to people a lot. Instead of putting both of our names on the loan, I later found out that everything was in my brother’s name. So it’s really my brother’s car, and my credit won’t improve at all. This is why you should make sure that both you and your co signer are present when you buy your Houston Honda, and that anything you sign has both of your signatures on the same page, and not separate.
